Great & Busy Weekend and a looonnnnggg post!

A great weekend had by the Pezent's!
Nana and Papa came into town on Friday afternoon and the kids had a ball. Not too much went on Friday night. Oh yeah, except when we were eating our supper Nana asked Logan where his food went and he thought just a moment and said it went "down my drain"! We got so tickled. We did get Logan's new window treatment that Nana made him hung up. You will see below the pictures of it. I know, if you are not an Auburn fan, you may want to skip on down! They are awesome though, she did a great job. Thanks Nana once again for all your hard work! Grandma has been working on him a new blanket to bring when she comes in October for his birthday. It is in Auburn colors instead of the baby blue blanket he currently uses.
We got up Saturday morning and headed to the Waffle House! They love to watch Logan eat a whole waffle, he did that for the first time around 18months old (I think) and they could not believe someone so small could put down an entire Waffle House waffle! Well, he doesn't eat them as much now, so he was eying my plate and decided he wanted some of my bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and then he spotted my grits and cleaned me out! We came home and Papa and Michael attacked our dead pine tree.
It is wonderful to have a couple of lumberjacks in the family! It saved us around $650, woohoo!!! I only had one quote and that was some older man came by a couple of weeks ago asking if it was our tree and that he could take it down. OK, how much?? "Well, I would have to get my guy to climb it because there is no way you can drop that tree anywhere due to the power lines, fence, house, and a small thicket of trees in the way, so I could do it for $650." "Sorry fellow, that is too much for us right now, my husband and his dad are looking at cutting it possibly. Thanks for the quote."
Well, after lots of tying off to another tree, cutting, untying and tying to another tree, untying, and tying to one more tree, a few "It's moving, It's falling, It's coming" and a few "Would you just hush, I can see", we finally have one big tree on the ground. Not on the house, not on the power lines, not on the fence, and right in the middle of the little tree thicket! They are so good!
This was cute, I caught Logan reading on his floor Friday while I was cleaning. He finally looked up when my flash went off.
Auburn curtains are hung! We now have Auburn helmet stripes around the room, curtains, lamp shade covered, painted canvas with Logan's name on it and plenty of little Auburn items around to complete Logan's room.
Oh yeah, I forgot, Nana made him a hanging bag that will go on the outside of his closet door to put toys in too. It really turned out cute, I just haven't hung it yet and got a picture. Thanks Nana for the little extra! I love it!
One daddy climbing the ladder to tie the tree off
One BIG dead pine tree too close to the house.
One Papa making the cut! No going back now!
Tying off to another tree in the thicket.
One BIG dead pine tree stuck in another pine tree. Now what are we going to do guys??
"Mama, I'm scared, I want to go back inside." "OK, then go back inside! "
One tree just not wanting to come down just yet. It was making some terrible noises while twisting on that stump! The wind would start picking up every once in a while too.
Ok, lets tie it off to this tree and pull a little. No luck, it is still stuck!
Ok, tree number 3 to tie off to and it did it with a little elbow power!
T I M B E R!!! Tree down!
Now, it can sit right there until January, after football season is over!
It did not take long for Papa to get the kids entertained in something with ropes! He made them lassos and then was showing them how to throw them onto something. They had a ball.
Yee Ha! Get it girl!
Trying to catch a sledge hammer!
Logan got a dump truck, with Papa's help!
Then the kids took to the tree and was tearing the bark off. They found a surprise!
It's a worm! I believe Papa said it was the pine beattle which is what killed the tree. Logan wanted it dead!
Smash it!
Now, it was time to head off to the GA Dome to watch our opening game against McEachern Indians. We had a great time. We had the 8:30pm game kickoff time and the game before us was running behing by about 30 minutes so ours started a little later. We knew this would be a late night, but were prepared. The kids had a great time just running around and watching a football game inside where we were not getting wet. We parked in a parking deck behind the Dome and when we got there it was not raining, so we forgot to take our umbrella's in. Well, when we left (5 minutes before the end of the game) the bottom fell out. We got soaked getting back to the parking deck. I was carrying Logan, so his back and head were soaked. Luckily I remember to bring their PJ's during football season to change them for the ride home in case they fall asleep. So, they got changed in the parking deck and had a great ride home watching Lion King. Neither went to sleep! We got back around 12:45am and went straight to bed. The best part was that we won the game!!! 31 to 21! Way to start the season guys!
It is hard to see in the pictures on the website, but Michael is the coach without a hat on and you can see that bald head (or shaved head)! In this picture he is the one walking on the left side by himself.
Getting warmed up!
"Pack it up, just go home, the Grayson Rams own the Dome"
"Go Grayson Rams!" If anyone cheered or clapped, Logan and Brooke would stop what they were doing to cheer them on!
Daddy walking around with his headset on!
Logan getting some Nana hugs! Actually both kids may have been in timeout for not listening. They had choices, and they ended up making the choice that put them in timeout!

Not quite the final score!
Here is write up from the AJC on the game.
No. 6 Grayson handles McEachern

Grayson proved it was worthy of its No. 6 preseason ranking Saturday at the Georgia Dome.
The Rams defeated McEachern 31-21 in the last game of the four-game Corky Kell Classic in the season opener for both schools. Grayson’s win also salvaged the day for teams from Gwinnett County in the annual kickoff classic. In earlier games, Brookwood and No. 7 Norcross lost.
Mickey Conn started the Grayson program from scratch in 2000, and now has the team among the elite. Last season, the Rams lost in the quarterfinals to Camden County in the Class AAAAA playoffs.
Grayson punted on its opening possession, but put together a 12-play, 63-yard drive on its next opportunity, taking a 7-0 lead on a 13-yard run by Greg Zellner. The Indians tied the score early in the second quarter, but could never pull ahead.
The loss ruined the McEachern coaching debut for Kyle Hockman, who moved over to the Powder Springs school from Campbell in the spring. He replaced Jimmy Dorsey, who retired at the end of last season after 23 years as coach.
Grayson appeared to be in control late in the third quarter, when Will Jessup booted a 33-yard field goal to give the Rams a 17-7 lead with 2:03 remaining. It turned out to be the first of three scores in a 45-second span.
McEachern responded on the ensuing kickoff when Damarius Matthews returned the ball 73 yards for a score. The Indians trailed 17-14 with 1:51 remaining.
But Grayson re-established control when quarterback Tyler Horne answered with a 36-yard touchdown run — his first of two scoring runs — with 1:18 left in the quarter.
The Rams’ returning leading rusher, Ean Pemberton, picked up where he left off last season by rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown. Last season, he had 1,025 yards rushing.
Horne also had a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
