Friends

This past weekend was a weekend filled with "Friends". The girls all went one way while the boys went their way. In our small group at church, we all have kids around the same ages and all but one has a girl. We had put together a trip to Northpoint Mall in Alpharetta a while back, since they all had American Girl Dolls. The closer it got, we started thinking how fun it would be to go Friday night and spend the night at a hotel. Thanks to Travelocity, we got an awesome deal on a couple of rooms, so we were set!
All the daughters piled into our room that night to watch some of the American Girl doll movies that we brought with the DVD player. The big girls piled into the other room to have some fun adult conversation and laughter! We had such a good time together. It was midnight before everyone got to bed, so we were prepared for a day of meltdowns at the mall the next day.
Unfortunately, when we got up, one of the girls had a high fever and was coming down with strep throat, so they ended up having to go back home without visiting the store. We all hated to see them have to leave since we all looked forward to this weekend for so long.
The rest of us made our way and had a blast! We told the girls it was a "yes" day. Every time they asked for something..."yes" was the answer! That died down after a short time and they got the hang of it pretty well. LOL!
We cannot wait to do this again and hopefully make this an annual event!
Friday night in the hotel, jammies on, dolls in hand and ready to watch movies! (L to R: Jenna, Kelsey, and Brooke)
It was freezing with the wind blowing, so this was taken pretty quick outside the store! (Ansley in the back, L to R: Kelsey, Sydney and Brooke)
No...this was not all the packages! I had run the bags out to the van and I was a little worried if we kept shopping, we may not have room for someone or something! There were a lot of bags.
Our first "YES". Brooke - "Mama, can we get a gumball?" All Mama's - "YES!"
The girls getting tired and ready for lunch. They were all such troopers though after not going on nearly as much sleep as they needed.
Finally, made it over to The Cheesecake Factory and as you can see, they were tired and hungry! So worth the wait though to eat here.
Spoons in hand and hot fudge sundaes in front of them! They were ready!
The 30th Anniversary cheesecake that I brought home to my sweet husband! Secretly hoping he would not eat it all so I could have some! LOL!
Last thing we did before leaving, the girls were well behaved and got to ride the carousel!

The guys had a great weekend too! They all met up Friday night and went out to eat, then Saturday morning met up and headed out to a shooting range with a lot of guns in hand. They definitely got a good dose of testosterone! Thank you all for such a great weekend and so glad Jenna is now feeling better!
