Ok, as promised some pictures from this week at VBS. I did not have time to take any during our different sessions so I just got some of the kids before we went to line up our class and some from the big carnival Friday night. Everyone was pooped out! We got home about 9:30pm last night, but the kids still woke up at 7am this morning (or Logan did, Brooke slept until 8am or after). They had a great time though and Brooke may be going to another friends VBS in a couple of weeks to keep her a little busy!
This was my whale picture in my class. I really liked him, he was cute!
My crab and all the little fish in our class "Fishing for Friends at VBS".
"Come take a walk with Jesus" door sign.
Our pastor in the dunkin booth to help raise money for his wife's team for the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk.
Brooke and another friend Hayley getting ready to climb the big slide.
Brooke on the right and yes, she is crying. Her and Hayley were holding hands and Hayley is first of all bigger and heavier than Brooke and she was wet while Brooke had not gotten wet yet. Hayley went flying down and did not let Brooke's hand go so Brooke got pulled upside down and flipped all around on the slide. I knew it was scaring her, it would have scared me with all the flips she made and not knowing if you would stop or not. Then when she got off we saw that the slide burnt her back on her shoulder blade, so she cried for a little while, but did not want to go home yet.
HOT Logan! It felt like 900 degrees on that black asphault! It was nice though, they had free Papa Johns pizza and drinks, about 10 different inflatables, the dunkin booth, music (all the songs we learned during the week, which was a huge work out for me because all the songs have motions and you have to jump in all of them, so that wore me out by Friday being in the great shape I'm in), and of course the sliming (I'll explain in the next few pictures)!
Brooke and Hayley lined up to play in the water tag maze.
We were waiting on the sliming and Logan got down and found someone with a towel and took a seat. I can't say I know who these folks were, but they let him sit and count the fish on the towel!
OK, this is the sliming. This is our Children's Minister and his wife. All during the week we have buckets for girls and boys for their offerings and if the boys win, then on Friday Mrs. Mattie gets slimed, but if the girls win then Mr. Keith gets slimed. Yep, girls win it again and the kids scream out all week long when they see either of them "Slime Mr. Keith or Slime Mrs. Mattie". This ends up being the biggest highlight of the week, but we are just proud of the kids raising money to send into the mission field. This year the money all went down to South America to help some missionary's from our church that just left a couple of months ago.Mr. Keith put on his water cap and goggles. Last year he put on goggles and a rubber duck swim ring aroun his waist! They are so much fun for these kids! Brooke will have them come August when she moves up to Childrens Church. It starts with 1st grade through 5th grade and I know she will love it!
Slime Time! This was postacheo (probably spelled wrong, but the nut) pudding and apple sauce....yuk! Many kids got slimed in the process!
Brooke and another friend Caitlynn getting on the big 25 foot water slide with a slippin' slide at the end. Brooke got up there and then chickened out! She is not a dare devil on some things, but will ride roller coasters, go figure!
While Brooke stood in line for the water tag maze again, Michael took Logan to the dunkin booth. He ended up picking him up to throw the balls and then just let him push the button to make Mr. Keith fall in the bucket! He got a huge kick out of that!
"Just let me hit it Daddy"!
And he did. You can see Mr. Keith getting on to him in the left side of the picture! He was just a laughing!
Check out that grin on his face!
Last thing of the night before we left, Brooke playing Water Tag with her friend Caitlynn. They had a ball doing this and she wanted to do it again, but it took to long in the line so we left.
