Merry Christmas to All!

We had such a blessed and busy Christmas holiday this year. Every year with the kids getting older, it brings new challenges and funny times! Logan just wishes he got a present every day of the year! We started having our Christmas the 2nd weekend in December and every weekend after that, so he could not understand why he was out of presents to open after Christmas Day??? Go figure! The boy already has more trains than Toys R Us could ever dream of having!

The kids did enjoy themselves this year. He was easy on the requests for gifts this year, trains, trains and more trains. Brooke on the other hand was a little more difficult to tell grandparents what to get her. She did get all of the Junie B Jones chapter books (her favorite) and she got more Barbie's and the V-Smile game and the Leapster. We told her she could take back the Leapster since it wasn't opened yet, but she finally decided to keep both. So, Friday we took her and Logan to Toys R Us and let them both get 2 games (they had buy 1 get 1 free on both V-Smile and Leapster) for the two systems. She is so sweet to share with him. We also got the adapter cord for the V-Smile and she got the one for the Leapster for Christmas, this way we are not spending a fortune in batteries!

We started off the holidays with checking Brooke out that Friday from school and headed down to Jackson, AL for the Pezent Christmas that weekend. We had a great time there as always. We got to take the kids to the new park that Papa helped build. It is so big and lots to do on the playground, even for Mommies! It is a nice playground and is going to be a nice park when they finish with it. Then we headed up to Aunt Marie's for the actual Christmas gathering. There were only 4 small kids this year, so they had to entertain each other, which wasn't hard to do and there was no fighting! That is a praise! We had a great time with the family and playing Dirty Santa! There wasn't any music this year, I think everyone was too full and tired!

On Monday, we headed back to Atlanta and Nana & Papa came along. We went to Lake Lanier for the Night of Lights again (6 1/2 miles of lights), we have done this every year but one I believe since Brooke was born. It is fun to do and we finally got wise and brought our own bag of marshmallows this year for the roast at the end instead of paying $2 for a stick with 5 on it that taste like they are left over from last year. Well, we just weren't smart enough to remember a stick though, so we still had to buy one of those $2 sticks! Maybe next time we can get it all together! Not next year though, as we are all (Nana, Papa, us, Lorin, Angela and the 3 boys) going to Gatlinburg next year for Christmas and we can't wait!

Then on Christmas Eve we went to our church's Candlelight Service, which was beautiful and certainly put me more in the mood. Logan went to sleep not long after getting settled down in our seats. We came home, made cookies, played and got ready for bed so Santa would come see us! Christmas morning, Brooke did not get up until about 7:30am, so that was nice to sleep in a little. Then we came downstairs to check it all out. They had a great morning. Nana & Papa left at lunchtime and then Papa John and Grandma made it around 5pm, so we had another round of gifts.

We headed out to return things on Friday...you did what??? I know, that was the stupidest thing I did all year! What a crazy place! Toys R Us, was out of everything and pretty crowded, the Mall of GA we rode by and I decided I would go back there another day! Then we went to The Avenue's @ Webb Gin and that was a parking lot of a bunch of angry drivers! Did I mention how stupid I was to even think of doing a thing like that? Well, all is good and almost all is returned/exchanged that needed to be. Michael and I were able to have a date day yesterday after church. We took off downtown to see the Falcons play (the football team got some free tickets for giving them a helmet to display in the new high school display), then went out to eat at Papadeux's. Thanks Grandma and Papa John for watching the kids. We hope everyone enjoyed Christmas as much as us this year and we wish everyone a blessed and prosperous new year!
