Mama Brag Post

I just need a few minutes to brag on my kids! LOL! Brooke got her CRCT test results back this week:

Scoring Guide:
Exceeds Level 3 = 850 or higher
Meet Expectations Level 2 = 800 - 849
Did Not Meet Level 1 = Below 800

Brookes Results:
Reading = 920
English/Language Arts = 892
Math = 854
Science = 881
Social Studies = 929

She Exceeded on all 5 subjects! Woohoo! I am so proud of how well she seems to test when under pressure and she did NOT get that ability from her Mama. She did awesome!

She also got a letter sent home on Friday announcing that she was picked to be a "Peer Helper" for 4th grade! It is something only open to the upcoming 4th graders, they have to give up one recess a week, they have to donate an hour of their time on Aug. 4th during registration to help out and they go through a training class. Basically they were chosen to be able to help underclassmen that may be struggling in a subject, mentoring to underclassmen, helping parents with questions on where to go during registration, helping run arrands for the teachers during registration, etc. They only had 25 slots, the kids had to fill out an application as to why they would be a good Peer Helper and a few other questions, and they had to get an adult referral other than family or teacher (your teacher also has to write a letter for you too). Brooke said almost all the kids in her class applied for it and only her and one other girl got it from their class.

This job fits Brooke to a "T". She LOVES helping others and helping teachers. That is what her teacher said during the first conference this year and every teacher before that. She has an awesome spirit and heart and I as her mother need to realize that more than I do sometimes. She is an incredible daughter!!!

Saturday was clean the house day...it hasn't been done good in a while. Both kids to clean their rooms and office (where they make their messes). After Brooke cleaned hers up, I went in and surprised her by letting her know we were going to rearrange the room. She was so happy, she has been wanting to do it for so long and I was going to wait until I painted in there again...but let's face it, that room won't see new paint for a while and hopefully with the way we arranged it she will have so much more room to play. I just hope she doesn't stay in there even more than she does now. I told her that we needed a Mommy/Daughter day out too, so Sunday after church me and her are going to do some shopping for Father's Day (who knows when our next opportunity would be before then) then we are headed to see Soul Surfer. We both have wanted to see that so bad! My baby girl is just growing up so fast and I can't lose these simple opportunities with her. Michael told Logan they would go do something...they need some manly time together too! LOL!

Logan's last day of school was Thursday, I was able to go to the party for a little while. They cancelled the water day since we had the cold snap come through and was worried it would be a little too chilly that morning. They had a couple of small bouncy houses, hula hoops (let me just tell you...my boy can hula hoop!), bean bag toss, horse shoes, bubbles, jump ropes, chalk, etc. They had a ball. Daddy went and picked him up later. Then Thursday night we went to watch one of his best buddies (Casey) graduate from Kindergarten. It was so sweet!

We tease all the time about them two getting married one day. If they do, her mom and I will have so many cute pictures to share at their wedding! They kept Brooke and Logan for us last Saturday night and while they were all sitting around the table eating pizza (all three boys, the dad, Clay and Logan sat on one side all eating pepperoni and all three girls, the mom, Brooke and Casey on the other side eating cheese). They were all talking about birthdays and their dad sat there and figured out that both Brooke and Casey are 54 days older than both boys! How cool is that, I think God did that for us! We say all the time if Brooke and Clay get married and Logan and Casey we would have one big happy family! We are crazy, we know, but they are all so cute together and play so good together. The boys play, the girls play, and the two older ones will play and the two younger ones. God definitely blessed us with them as our friends!

Logan had his last soccer game today and let me just tell you, he was on fire! That boy scored 6 goals himself. He was so proud of himself! We think it was because Clay and Casey came to watch him play! LOL!
It was a cold day for a soccer party. The wind was blowing pretty bad, so we moved the picnic table behind the building.
Logan and Coach Vern - pretty funny man!
Conner, Colin, Logan, Trey and Eli (Missing Ean) what a good group of boys!
 Getting ready for his "Freedom Parade"
 Walking in the parade down all the halls!
 Ready to go outside and play
 Check out that boy!
